Refrigeration Types
Remote Refrigeration System
Remote systems are by far the most popular of our refrigeration options. Whilst capital cost is higher, the remote system offers energy savings over the lifetime of the product. The main advantage of remote refrigeration is greater reliability, quieter operation and lowest lifetime costs.
Integral Refrigeration System
Wall or ceiling mounted integral refrigeration systems are available. These systems are only suitable for well ventilated areas. Fresh air must be able to reach the coldroom area for the cooling system to operate reliably.
Temperature Monitoring
Automated real time wireless temperature monitoring systems with reporting and alarm management. Our ranges cover a broad spectrum of accurate and resilient sensors monitoring temperature.
Our wireless monitoring system user interface gives the operator a fast-track, easy and effective way to access and obtain the data from any of the sensors being monitored. This means the alarm will inform the user promptly, resulting in the longevity of the product saving time and money.

Hydraulic Trolleys
At Foster Coldstores, we offer a large range of UK manufactured robust hydraulic trolleys to suit any application, assisting with all lifting requirements within a mortuary environment.
Hydraulic trolleys are designed to work efficiently with the racking design to ensure a seamless transition from trolley to fridge. Trolleys are available in manual or electric versions, with different options for safe working loads.
We have great flexibility to offer bespoke manual hydraulic units with further accessories to be sure you get the desired trolley to meet your requirements.
Our trolley range engages a high pressure pump combined to a heavy duty ram and includes a fail safe valve for extra safety.

Racking
Manufacturing bespoke racking to suit your requirements is standard practise for us at Foster Coldstores.
- We offer:
- Stub rollers for tray applications
- Full tength rollers for coffins and trays
- Modesty panelling options
Racking can be supplied and installed up to 5 tier to your requirements (space permitting). These options include fixed or adjustable height to provide flexibility to the operator. They can be designed to suit your site specific requirements offering options such as a pass thru or side loading for easy accessibility. Racking can be integrated into the refrigeration space design or for flexibility a freestanding mobile racking unit can be provided.

Trays
Mortuary trays are manufactured in 304 grade stainless steel with a super satin finish. Steel trays offer good construction for cooling, hygiene and cleanliness. They are sturdy and resilient enabling them to last a lifetime.
Foster Coldstores offers both flat and ribbed stainless steel trays to suit your needs in a variety of sizes. Standard sizes include:
- 560mm - Standard
- 660mm - Semi-obese
- 750mm - Obese
- 900mm - Bariatric
- Available in either fabricated, pressed and chevron styles
- 100% fully welded construction
- Complete with full width stainless steel handles and tray runners
Additional Options: Fluted drain-outlet, 316 grade stainless steel, deep section and fabrication style

Stainless Steel Items
Embalming Station
The stainless steel (304 grade) peninsular and transverse embalming sinks consists of a clean and foul sink combination. The fully welded and wall mounted stainless steel sinks with seam free finish are easy to clean, this is important to avoid spreading infection. The sinks accessories include:
- Small rear splash-guard
- High neck lever action mixer tap
- Thermostatic mixer
- 3m (BWIC) approved hose
- Spray unit (quick release fitting)
A further single sink unit can have a hose and or either a coarse filter basket.
Sluice
The Sluice is neatly finished with a vanity skirt consisting of a conical hopper and full flushing rim leading to a 110mm waste outlet. The push button flush allows the sluices 9 litre tank to be controlled easily with hands free use.
The hopper is welded to a pressed worktop and has an easy clean perimeter profile. A number of modifications can take place to make the product work for you, as an extension or built into a table.
Combination Sluice & Sink
The Combination element consists of sink and sluice integrated into the same unit with a wide selection of our ranges that can be modified, manufacturing different styles together to fit your space.
